Dr Bala Vigneswaran is a Senior Technical Advisor (Water) with the Department of Climate Change Energy the Environment and Water. He has more than 27 years of experience in water industry in Australia, in local and state government, private and academic sectors. Prior to his current role at DCCEEW, he had worked in operations and regulatory roles at Central Coast Council and Kempsey Shire Councils. With WaterNSW for 14 years, science, knowledge development, catchment processes, incident management and risk management tasks. He is a member of the Water Quality Advisory Committee that provides expert advice to NHMRC on the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines on public health issues related to drinking water quality.
