WIOA is dedicated to promoting excellence in water industry operations through various competitions and events. These include the Best Tasting Tap Water and Main Tapping Competitions, as well as networking, social and educational events.
Water Main Tapping Competition
Sponsored by Reece Civil + Viadux
A live, skills-based competition showcasing the expertise of water network operators. Teams compete to perform live water main taps in the fastest time. State and Territory winners advance to the national finals, celebrating the essential crews who keep water flowing 24/7.
This competition will be held over both days of the exhibition.
Best Tasting Tap Water Competition

The IXOM Best Tasting Tap Water competitions are a fun and exciting way to raise awareness of the quality of drinking water and to recognise the efforts of local water service providers in delivering valuable water services to their communities. The winners are announced as having the Best Tasting Tap Water in the State.
This competition will be held in the exhibition hall on Wednesday 25th March, 2026.
