Follow the complete lifecycle of a flow meter upgrade at Dungog Water Treatment Plant, initiated after a Drinking Water Quality Risk Assessment identified unacceptable filtration risks. Existing Pitot Tube meters presented the greatest public health, operational and environmental concerns during low-flow conditions, particularly when managing poor raw water quality events. The findings led to market research, project development and installation of ten ultrasonic clamp-on flow meters through Veolia’s Minor Capital Works program within the Hunter Water Treatment Alliance. This session covers investigation, selection and installation, sharing key safety and process considerations alongside practical lessons from project delivery for future upgrades.

Beginning her career as a wastewater treatment operator, she steadily progressed through the industry, developing expertise and leadership skills. A proud Hunter Valley native, Kim combines her professional commitment with a passion for outdoor adventures and her beloved dogs. When not managing minor capital works projects, she enjoys exploring new destinations around Australia and renovating her house.
