Overview

Riverina Water County Council - Lachlan Bagget, Cadet Engineer

Details

Riverina Water transformed existing SCADA telemetry into a practical demand reporting system to improve visibility across its large urban and regional network. Previously, operators manually entered daily calculations into a spreadsheet, providing low-resolution and incomplete coverage. The new approach models individual systems and subsystems using fundamental demand principles, then integrates them into a weekly report covering daily demand, rolling trends, treatment production, subsystem consumption and pump station utilisation. These insights help operations, engineering and management monitor seasonal fluctuations, identify network stress points and target responses. During high-demand periods, the reports also support risk-based decisions, resilience, planning and service delivery improvements.
