Aken Baragud is a Water Officer with the Torres Strait Island Regional Council based on Warraber (Sue) Island. Before joining TSIRC, Aken worked as a TSRA Ranger for more than 20 years, building extensive experience in land and sea management and working closely with local communities. He joined TSIRC as an Engineering Officer in 2023 and now works within the water team, helping deliver safe and reliable drinking water services to his community. Aken is passionate about supporting his community and contributing to improved water quality and security across the Torres Strait.

Marcus Warusam is an Engineering Operations Supervisor with the Torres Strait Island Regional Council, based on Saibai Island. Since joining Council in 2021 as an Environmental Health Officer, Marcus has built extensive experience in remote service delivery, transitioning into water operations in 2023. He is passionate about supporting Torres Strait communities through the delivery of safe and reliable water services.
