Ashley Reidy - Rockhampton Regional Council/Fitzroy River Water, Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
Details
Go behind the scenes of the Glenmore Water Treatment Plant upgrade with Fitzroy River Water and Rockhampton Regional Council. Delivered over two years with Alliance Automative, the project transformed critical water and wastewater infrastructure while the plant remained operational around the clock. This session presents the infrastructure before and after the upgrade and explores the challenges of completing complex construction in a live treatment environment. With shutdowns limited to just eight to ten hours at a time, careful planning, coordination and operational resilience were essential. Attendees will gain practical insight into managing major upgrades while maintaining vital water services continuously.

Ashley Reidy has been a water/waterwater treatment plant operator for 22 years and he is currently a control room operator at the Glenmore Water Treatment Plant.
Ashley has been on the WIOA QLD advisory committee for two years and in 2012 he was the operator of the year Queensland Water Directorate.
Ashley's journey into the water industry has been a deeply personal one, after his father, a waste water operator himself, influenced his early path into the field.
